You are invited to participate in a web-based online survey on Xavier’s voter registration levels. This survey will be to show exactly how many respondents are eligible to vote, registered to vote, and inform students what states have online registration. This is a research project being conducted on behalf of the Political Science Club a student organization at the Xavier University of Louisiana.  It should take approximately 4 minutes to complete.

 
PARTICIPATION
Your participation in this survey is voluntary. You may refuse to take part in the research or exit the survey at any time without penalty. You are free to decline to answer any particular question you do not wish to answer for any reason.

BENEFITS
You will receive no direct benefits from participating in this research study. However, your responses may help us learn more about how many 1st year students are eligible but not registered to vote and the reality of voting in American elections.
 
RISKS
There are no foreseeable risks involved in participating in this study other than those encountered in day-to-day life.


CONFIDENTIALITY
Your survey answers will be sent to a link at Qualtrics.com where data will be stored in a password protected electronic format. This survey will collect your name and email.

At the end of the survey, you will be asked if you are interested in participating in an additional interview [by phone, in person, or email]. If you choose to provide contact information such as your phone number or email address, your survey responses may no longer be anonymous to the researcher. However, no names or identifying information would be included in any publications or presentations based on these data, and your responses to this survey will remain confidential.
